Hi. I really need help. Last week, I had really bad chapped lips. I’m a sophomore in highschool, and I’m a boy. I asked my mom to buy me Chapstick, and she said “Yeah, whatever”. A few days passed, and then my chapped lips got worse. I really needed Chapstick, so I asked her to take me to the store to get some. She pulled out a big box and searched around in it…then pulled out a tube of “Aquafina Hydrating Lip Oil”. It’s a 10g, blue tube that has a screw on cap. There’s a gel inside (the “oil” part) that you squeeze onto your lips, and then with the top part, you spread it over your lips. It made my lips all glossy, but it worked, so I didn’t complain (“With calming natural botanicals”). It tastes good, too. It’s hard to explain what it tastes like, almost a minty type flavor only better. (It got to the point where I was putting it on just for the taste. I mean, I still used it for my chapped lips, but I was putting on extra to “lick” off).
So I was in Spanish class today, my first period. My lips were starting to feel chapped, so I pulled it out to use it…then the girl next to me says, “Why do you have Lip Gloss?”
“What?”
“Why do you have Lip Gloss?”
“Huh…This? No, this is ‘lip oil’. Almost like Chapstick.”
“No. It’s Lip Gloss.”
“Uh…no. It’s Chapstick.”
So she pulled out her purse, looked through it, and took out a small tube. It was the same size as mine, same design and everything…only it was in a clear tube (not blue like mine) and the “liquid” part was red (mine is clear). Plus, hers is called Lip Gloss, and mine is called “Hydrating Lip Oil.”, and hers isn’t Aquafina.
So I was all, “No way. It’s chapstick.”
And she was all, “Nope. It’s lip gloss.”
“Really?!”
“…Yeah.”
So…My question is…Have I been wearing lip gloss for the past week? It’s been working on my lips, healing the chapped parts…but is it LIP GLOSS?!?!
I mean…it’ll be really embarrassing if I’ve been wearing lip gloss all week.
So…Aquafina Hydrating Lip Oil….
Chapstick…? Or Lip Gloss…?

Well, technically, it isn’t either of those. It is lip OIL.
So, it’s a cross between the two. It makes your lips glossy and shiny, like lip gloss would, but it also moisturizes your lips like chapstick! I guess if you really wanted to call it either, you could.
So, both of you are wrong.

chapstick is usally thick not like an oil. but lip gloss is usally a color but its oily. so since it never said lip gloss or chapstick i would say lip oil! i would keep wearin it if u like it! but just dont put it on in front of girls. that way ur lips arnt chaped and girls wont mistake it for lip gloss! lol. plus if it makes u feel any better my bf wears it too. haha it makes his lips look. and feell! soo soft!
I have it, and I love it too.
But, its neither. Tell her shes incorrect. It is oil, but for your lips.
It just looks like lip gloss. But its certainly not chapstick, lol.
I recommend not putting it on at school, it WILL look like your putting on lip gloss. And thats weird in so many levels
